Loki a Non-Marvel Fan Review

Loki title sequence still

I never was a fan of Loki as a Marvel character but then…Loki happened. Much like what happens in this series he changed my mind. Or at least distracted me enough that I thought I was a fan for a few episodes. Not that I didn’t love the show. In fact, kicking and screaming, though I am, as a former DC fanatic I have come to love every single Marvel movie I’ve seen. As of last week that is all of them except Black Widow (waiting for it to go off premiere with the rest of us who are not made of money).

So, what will I say about Loki?

I loved it. I loved the relationship between Loki and Mobius first and then between Loki and Sylvie and then between Loki and Alligator Loki. I would like to see Alligator Loki get his own spin-off if I’m being honest. Alligator Loki for President…?

Anyway, I totally identified with Loki falling in love with himself because I’m not so sure I’m not headed that way myself sometimes. Needless to say, I did not agree with him being called a narcissist for doing so. Or at least I thought it was justified. I also would 100% have double-crossed all my other selves in favor of overtaking the void. If you have not seen the show yet you should do that now so that the last paragraph will make more sense.

We need to talk about He at the end of things or whatever his name was. He Who Remains, that’s it. I have dubbed him He Who Reminds me Of My Ex and I hated him. I hated him more than Sylvie hated him and I was glad she killed him and ruined everything because frankly, I’ve run through a similar scenario with my ex as the villain and the outcome is the same and it’s very satisfying. Anyone who did not agree with her choice has simply never had a failed relationship with an a**-hole before. Congratulations.

In other words, with Loki Marvel has produced a well-rounded, well-written story with a satisfying outcome that left me wanting more. I hope you agree and if you don’t I hope you leave me a comment and tell me why.
